/ Spectrophotometer /
A spectrophotometer is an instrument used to accurately measure color, light transmittance, and reflectivity. It works by first separating light into different wavelengths, then selecting the required wavelength to illuminate the sample. After the light passes through or reflects off the sample, the instrument detects how much light remains, allowing it to calculate:
- The sample’s color (chromaticity)
- The percentage of light transmitted through the sample (transmittance)
- The percentage of light reflected by the sample (reflectance)
